The Inspiration
Zack and Naya’s story was inspired by conversations about foster care and adoption and the beauty of welcoming others into our families and showing them love.
While researching, Laura discovered the idea of an invisible red thread connecting people who are destined to meet. That idea raised a question that became central to Zack and Naya’s story: What does it look like to have a family when you have no blood relatives?
From that question came a story of loss, family, faith, and rescue. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Laura Conaway romantic suspense without plenty of danger, so a cold case, a water contamination crisis, and a murderer determined to keep the truth buried quickly became part of the journey.
